Ching seems to have it all: caring and understanding parents, kindred classmates, and even a pet tortoise. But beneath the surface of her seemingly perfect life, deep down she is on the verge of a breakdown.
詩晴有著體貼包容的父母、相處投契的同學。每天上課、參與劇社、照顧寵物⋯⋯表面平靜如常，內心卻早已陷入崩塌的邊緣。
Synopsis 故事大綱
“Sometimes you have to try so hard to make life look easy.”
Ching has caring and understanding parents who never pressure her to perform better when she receives average grades on exams. She has kind classmates who love her and always study with her. While her family and school life seem harmonious, this is not necessarily true for her inner world. Like her little pet tortoise, Ching maybe unclear about how she feels and struggles to come to terms with her emotions…

詩晴有著體貼包容的父母，即使她成績平平，父母從不施予壓力；詩晴有著相處投契的同學，一起上堂、做功課、參與劇社⋯⋯家庭健康，校園融洽，詩晴表面平靜如常，內心卻已陷入崩塌的邊緣。
或許詩晴在眾人的心目中，就如詩晴所悉心照料的寵物龜一樣，總是看不清楚她的情緒、她的感受⋯⋯
Director’s Statement 導演闡述
Student suicide is common in Hong Kong these days. Many attribute the cause to school-related stress and bullying, or stained family relationships.
As the spouse of an educational psychologist and a witness to the struggles of one of my family members with depression, I’ve come to realise that the reasons behind suicide are usually complicated. In fact, even students from loving families with good academic results and close relationships with peers at school may be susceptible to taking their own lives.
In this film, I do not aim to investigate the root cause of suicide. Rather, my focus is to present the mental state of people battling depression, and to enable the audience to feel and empathise with their struggles.
香港學童自殺事件不斷，一般人將現象簡單化：學業壓力大、家庭關係破裂、校園欺凌。
我有曾患抑鬱症的家人，和任職教育心理學家的太太。以往跟家人相處以及從太太口中聆聽情緒病學生的故事，一直讓我很深感受。很多時候，自殺的原因並非一般人理解的單一，有溫暖家庭，成績不錯，廣結朋友的人，也可能自殺。
過往的本地創作中，以青少年自殺作題材的短片多以敍述自殺原因作主軸，部分透過自殺探討背後的社會問題。學童自殺的背後，或許沒有重大事件，在旁人眼中，他們可能看起來還好好的，可是消化不了的情緒反應積累堆疊，內心已破碎崩塌。
在是次創作，我們的目標並非查找原因，而是透過主角詩請平淡的日常，展現出抑鬱症患者的狀態。

YEUNG King Lun 楊景麟
YEUNG is an audio-visual creator who graduated from the School of Journalism and Communication at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He specialises in directing, editing and colour-grading.
In 2021, his directorial debut Moonshine won the ifva Gold Award (Open Category).
YEUNG has also worked closely with emerging Hong Kong young filmmakers in their film and short film projects.
畢業於香港中文大學新聞與傳播學院，專注於導演、剪接及調光。
2021年，楊首次執導短片《明月光》，奪ifva公開組金獎。
楊近年亦擔當多位年輕導演的後期製作伙伴，作品包括：《凪》、《天下烏鴉》等。

HO Yuk Fai 何旭輝
HO graduated from The School of Film and Television at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a major in Cinematography. He was the executive producer of the Radio Television Hong Kong drama series Find Me Guilty.
In 2022, HO made his debut as a co-cinematographer on the feature film Fly Me To The Moon. His previous cinematographic works won the ifva Awards Gold Award and were nominated for the Golden Horse Best Short Feature. His directorial debut Eternal Sunshine won the Fresh Wave Best Director Award.
香港演藝學院畢業，主修電影攝影。曾任香港電台劇集《無惡之罪》執行監製。《但願人長久》為他首部電影攝影作品。其他短片攝影作品曾獲ifva金獎，並入圍金馬最佳劇情短片。其導演首作《光》獲鮮浪潮最佳導演。

YEUNG Leung Chuen 楊兩全
YEUNG graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong majoring in Journalism and Communication. He won Best Director at Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival with The Bridge. His scriptwriting work Liu Yang He and Wild Child were awarded Best Picture at Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival, and Dark Room was selected at Locarno Film Festival for Academy screenings. His scriptwriting feature film Hong Kong Family was selected at Busan International Film Festival.
畢業於香港中文大學新聞與傳播學院。編導短片《白沙堆》獲鮮浪潮最佳導演。編劇短片《瀏陽河》及《野小子》兩奪鮮浪潮大獎；《菲與林明》獲選映於盧卡諾影展。編劇長片《過時・過節》入圍釜山國際電影節。
