Teenage girl, Moon, wanders from Hong Kong to Berlin, and stays with Anna, who is also from Hong Kong. She tries to explore her sexuality, ideals, and life in the big city.
少女阿夢從香港到德國柏林流浪，寄居在同樣為香港人的安娜家中。她在大城市中試圖探索自己的性向、理想與生活。

Synopsis 故事大綱
Moon is a 20-year-old girl who is spontaneous, free-spirited, and idealistic, yearning for a romantic nomadic lifestyle. While she falls asleep on a beach near Berlin’s outskirts, her belongings and bicycle wheels that were left outside her tent are stolen. She is left with no choice but to seek help in the city. Along the way, she receives assistance from Anna and stays on the couch in Anna’s shared apartment. Meanwhile, she continues to interact with different people in the unfamiliar city and explores her own sexuality.
Anna, 32 years old, has chosen a completely different life path from Moon. She is practical, stable, and has been trying different jobs during her over three-year of stay in Berlin. Additionally, she hopes to bring her three-year-old daughter from Hong Kong to Berlin for education and a better life. She encounters the spontaneous Moon and understands her choice to wander away from the crowd. In fact, at times, she doesn’t believe that she is solely helping Moon; she feels that Moon has also saved a part of her.

阿夢是一位二十歲的少女，她率性自由、充滿理想主義，渴望過著浪漫的流浪生活。她因在柏林近郊的沙灘入睡時，被偷走了放在帳幕外面的行裝和單車車輪，只好前往城市尋求協助。在過程中，她得到安娜的協助，寄居於安娜合租屋的沙發上，同時繼續嘗試接觸陌生城市中不同的人，並探索自己的性向。
三十二歲的安娜選擇了跟阿夢完全相反的人生方向，她踏實、穩重，在柏林居住了三年多的期間一直嘗試不同工種，為的是努力賺錢養活自己，同時也希望把自己三歲多的女兒從香港帶到柏林讀書和生活。她遇上了率性的阿夢，面對著這樣的一位小女孩，她卻理解阿夢遠離人群流浪的選擇。甚至，有時她不認為只是她幫助了阿夢，而是阿夢也拯救了一部分的她。

Director’s Statement 導演闡述
A Story from Elsewhere depicts two women who struggle to find a balance between their ideals and reality while living on foreign land. Moon, a 20-year-old girl, possesses a primal, animalistic nature: freely roaming in nature and being able to sleep in a tent by the beach. However, humans are ultimately social creatures and cannot completely escape the rules of society. On the other hand, Anna, who used to love painting and art, chose to set aside her ideals and opted for a down-to-earth way of living, struggling for survival in the society. While they have chosen two completely different lifestyles, they both understand each other’s choices.
The story is inspired by my personal experiences and those of my friends living and working in Berlin, as well as the self-awareness of wanderers and expatriates. When people are in a foreign land, it is fortunate to encounter others who speak the same language and share the same cultural background.

《她方》描述兩位無法在理想與現實中尋找平衡的女性，在異鄉生活的處境。二十歲的少女阿夢，擁有原始動物般的野性：在大自然中自由奔走，在沙灘旁築起帳幕便能入睡。可是人類始終是群居動物，終究無法完全擺脫群體的規則。而安娜曾經也熱愛繪畫與藝術，但後來她把理想完全放下，選擇腳踏實地走到社會中掙扎求存。她們二人雖然選擇了兩種截然不同的生活方式，但她們同樣理解對方的選擇。
故事的靈感源自本人和友人們在柏林生活與工作中所面對的處境與狀態，以及流浪者與旅居者的自我覺察。當人在異鄉的時候，能夠與跟自己說著同一種語言、擁有同樣文化背景的人相遇，是一件多麼幸運的事。

Erica Kwok Chung Yee 郭頌儀
Erica Kwok is a Berlin-based independent filmmaker from Hong Kong. She has received support for her short film creations and narrative experiments from institutions such as the Goethe-Institut, Radio Television Hong Kong, and the Hong Kong Literary Criticism Society. Her works mainly revolve around themes such as women, growth, and existential crises. She believes in the liberating power of imagination.

郭頌儀，來自香港的獨立電影製片人，目前定居柏林。曾獲歌德學院、香港電台、香港文學評論學會等的支持進行短片創作和敘事實驗。她的作品主要圍繞女性、成長和存在危機等主題。她相信想像力的解放力量。

Kira Fung Ka Cheuk 馮嘉卓
Kira Fung is currently working as a cinematographer. He graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2017, majoring in Film Directing. In 2024, his first feature film, as a director of photography, titled Hong Kong Tribe – The Naked Nation, was selected for global premiere at the 2024 Rotterdam International Film Festival. Other notable works include Mo (as Director) and 27 (as Cinematographer) etc.

馮嘉卓，任職電影攝影師，現居德國柏林工作。2017年畢業於香港浸會大學電影學院，主修導演。其首部擔任攝影指導的長片作品《裸族之香港部落》入圍鹿特丹國際電影節2024 作全球首映。其他代表作品包括《阿毛》（執導）及《27》（攝影）等。
