Logline 故事摘要
Mike is planning a wedding for himself when he learns that his mother has filed for a divorce and left. The experience and his encounter with different people force him to revalue his coming marriage and his idea of love.
立程正在籌備婚禮,母親卻提出離婚離家出走。在與不同的人的對話中,他對婚姻有了另一番的感悟,也重新審視自己和未婚妻的愛。
Synopsis 故事大綱
While Mike and Vanessa are preparing for their wedding, Mike’s mother abruptly divorces his father and leaves. As a lawyer, Mike escapes from his personal matters by busy handling an estate dispute case. He enlists the help of his colleague, Scarlet, to assist his father in the divorce proceedings. Scarlet, doubtful about the institution of marriage, reflects on her own parents’ perfect relationship, which surprisingly has negatively influenced her.
Mike’s supervisor, Chris, has a loving wife. However, during the company Christmas party, Chris gets drunk and accuses his wife of never truly loving their son. She honestly admits her deep resentment towards their son and regrets sacrificing her own career for his sake.
During a dinner with Vanessa’s parents, who recently returned from a trip to Argentina, it is revealed that Vanessa’s mother has developed an infatuation with a young man they encountered during the trip.
Through various conversations with the people around him, Mike begins to uncover the underlying cause of his fear of commitment. He realises that his apprehension might stem from his deep-seated resentment towards his mother.
立程是一名律師,在與未婚妻可欣籌備婚禮之時,他的母親突然留下一封離婚呈請書然後離家出走。立程於是寄情繁忙的工作,埋頭處理一宗爭產案,讓自己同事雅雯幫助他父親處理離婚。立程跟她討論父母的事情時,也了解到她對婚姻意義的質疑,因為雅雯對於自己父母之間的恩愛非但沒有羨慕,反而十分反感。
立程的上司啟朗有一個漂亮賢淑的妻子。在公司的聖誕派對上,醉態可掬的啟朗指責妻子從未愛過自己的兒子。她坦言自己痛恨兒子,後悔為了照顧他而放棄工作。
可欣的父母剛從旅行回來,看似和陸的一對,卻發現原來她母親對遠在阿根廷的一個年輕男孩念念不忘。
種種對話讓立程對婚姻改變了想法,並發現到自己內心深處對母親的畏懼和憎恨。
Director’s Statement 導演闡述
There are two reasons that inspired me to write this story.
Firstly, a close friend of mine recently experienced a breakup after being in a 7-year relationship. He expressed the feeling that their love had gradually faded, yet he was taken aback when his girlfriend suggested ending things. As I consoled and listened to him, I discovered that the underlying issues had actually arisen much earlier, manifesting in small changes in their behaviour.
Secondly, I have been contemplating the nature of movies themselves. The more films I watch, the harder it becomes for a movie to truly resonate with me and leave a lasting impact. However, after viewing a film titled Undine, I was thrilled to realise that a movie with a simple storyline, easily summarised in a few sentences, could still deliver a captivating and emotionally touching narrative. This realisation led me to understand that, with limited resources, I should delve deeper into simple stories, offering a different perspective on tales that are familiar to everyone. Thus, the concept for this screenplay came to fruition.
《冬天的一個晚夜的一個擁抱》的初衷有二。
一是我的一位朋友和女朋友在交往七年後分手了。他一直在反思問題所在。在安慰和傾聽他的過程中,發現原來問題早在他們意識到之前就已經出現。當一個小小的「good night」不再出現時,問題便開始醞釀。
二是我對電影本身有所反思。在觀看《水漾的女人》這部電影後我大受啟發。一個如此簡單的故事,卻能給人留下迷人而觸動人心的印象。因此,我意識到在有限的資源下,應該更加深入地,以一個不同的角度講述每個人都聽過的故事。

Ng Ka Wai 吳家偉
Graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Master‘s Degree in Philosophy. Ng‘s short films have been selected in the Fresh Wave International Short Film Festival and the Rhode Island International Film Festival. His films delve into the existential anxieties of humans in the modern world, emphasising the suppression and examining individuals being stifled by the constraints of society with a profound sense of disorientation and detachment.
香港中文大學哲學碩士。作品曾入圍第13屆和第15屆鮮浪潮國際短片節。短片《Immer》入圍羅德島國際電影節。吳氏的作品深入探討現代社會中人類的生存焦慮,強調壓抑和審視個人被社會束縛所扼殺的深刻迷失感和疏離感。

Ho Yuk Fai 何旭輝
Graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a major in Cinematography. Executive producer of the RTHK drama series Find Me Guilty. In 2022, he served as a co-cinematographer for the feature film Fly Me To The Moon. His previous cinematographic works won the ifva Gold Award and were nominated for the Golden Horse Best Short Feature.
香港演藝學院畢業,主修電影攝影。曾任香港電台劇集《無惡之罪》執行監製。《但願人長久》(2023)為他的首部電影攝影作品。其他短片攝影作品曾獲ifva金獎,及入圍金馬最佳劇情短片。
