Based in Istanbul, Janet BARIŞ is a film critic and an Associate Professor at the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema of Altınbaş University, Faculty of Fine Art and Design. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in 2013 with a thesis on Contemporary Turkish Cinema and Melancholy. An avid scholar on contemporary Turkish and world cinemas, Barış is the author of Class Aspects in New Turkish Cinema, published in 2021. Her articles on films and critic reviews have also been widely published on various platforms. She has been a member of SİYAD (Turkish Film Critics Association) since 2008 and FIPRESCI (The International Federation of Film Critics) since 2010. A well-experienced FIPRESCI jury member at numerous international film festivals, she served as a committee member on the EFA (European Film Academy) European Discovery – Prix FIPRESCI board between 2021 and 2023. 

現居伊斯坦堡的珍妮特巴勒什是一名影評人，亦是阿爾特巴什大學美術及設計學院的廣播、電視及電影系副教授。她於 2013 年獲得博士學位，論文題目為《Contemporary Turkish Cinema and Melancholy》。她熱衷於研究當代土耳其和世界電影，著有《Class Aspects in New Turkish Cinema》一書，出版於2021年。她的電影文章和影評也廣泛地發表在各種平台上。自 2008 年以來，她一直是土耳其影評人協會（SİYAD）的成員；自 2010 年起，她亦成為國際影評人聯盟（FIPRESCI）的成員。她曾在眾多國際電影節上代表國際影評人聯盟擔任評委，經驗豐富。2021 至 2023 年期間，她為歐洲電影學院（EFA）頒發的歐洲發現 – 費比西獎（European Discovery – Prix FIPRESCI）擔任國際影評人聯盟委員會委員。
